This worked well playing the game, and although the ability to rapidly switch up powers and abilities took some getting used to, it had obviously been well thought out.

X/Y were then used to control the short and long range attacks of the character’s top half. In practice this means that A is for jump while B offers a dash or flying attack from the legs of the current Swap Force figure. At our hands-on preview it appeared to be that on the 360 A/B were for the bottom half and X/Y were for the top half. This, along with the new ability for Skylanders old and new to jump means that the controls will be different this time around. Put your chosen combination on the portal and the identically miss-matched character will appear in the game. These combinations come from the ability to switch the torso and legs on each of these figures which snap together with a set of magnets.
